His kindness and compassion for our students and community were on display daily as he fought hard to get the resources we needed to support our students and staff as they began the long and hard road to turning around the educational opportunities and future probability of success for our most precious resource, our children.
He joined the Manch Community at the tail end of the 13-14 school year as our school entered the Turn Araound Zone under the leadership of Dr. Jeffrey Geihs. He was a newly appointed principal and Pat Skorkowsky showed great courage and wisdom as he placed the mantle of responsibility to care for our Manch students and families on his shoulders. He began by putting together one of the finest staffs in the Clark County School District to spearhead his vision to give our students a brighter future.
Under his guidance, our school quickly generated buzz for its new and innovative strategies and newfound success. We have been visited by several Nevada legislators, school board members and and high ranking district officials who all wanted to see first hand the amazing work being accomplished. If you ever tried to credit our school's success to him, he would always quickly point to our faculty and staff for all of their hard work, dedication and perseverance. These characteristics were not just something on the wall or letterhead, they were lived out by him and our staff on a daily basis.
Mr. Nunez has now been tasked with the care and leaderhip of the Orr Middle School community and they will soon learn what we have known for the last 3 years, the honor and privilege to know and work alongside this amazing man. Farewell Principal Nunez. You will be missed, but your influcence will never be forgotten.
